We have had many turtles coming to lay on all beaches this year with a compensation scheme for those that find them. There is a monitoring team in place that patrol all the beaches who report any nests back to Joseph the project leader. We work closely with Bureni Turtle Watch and Mwanamia turtle project. We are raising money for a rehabilitation centre for injured turtles. One of 3 proposed turtle hatcheries has been built on the Kinuni beach.
