Humpback whales have been sighted on a regular daily basis during the past weeks in the Watamu Marine Reserve. Single whales and larger pods have been spotted breaching and tail slapping, provoking gasps of wonder from onlookers.

A word of advice for whale watchers – whilst these animals can be curious and may swim close to boats of their own volition, do not chase or follow them as this will cause stress especially if mothers are with calf.
